To our Clients and Friends:
During this time of uncertainty, as the health pandemic of COVID-19 affects both local and national businesses, we understand that business owners need answers to important questions. Everything seems to be changing at a rapid pace and subject to new legislation, executive orders and ongoing policy changes now being implemented by the Federal Government, the State of Indiana, and, perhaps, your local communities. RTS is tracking the situation and will strive to provide you with the most up to date information as developments change so that your business understands the corresponding implications and how they may impact you.
RTS remains fully operational. The Governor’s Order states that legal services are essential businesses. Some of our team are in the office and others available and working remotely. We are committed to continuing to provide you with our high level of client service and will remain highly responsive to you through this unusual and difficult time.
As a precaution, and to be as compliant as possible with State and Federal guidance, we will be conducting all client meetings and contact over the phone, by email, or video conferencing until further notice.
During this time of uncertainty, if you or your friends and family have questions, please feel free to contact us.

Virtual Mediation: Dispute Resolution during COVID-19
Social distancing has changed many aspects of the legal industry, including the way we conduct mediations. Travel bans and concerns regarding at-risk individuals being in close contact with others is requiring us, when necessary or requested, to conduct mediations via telephone and video conferencing. Conducting remote mediations is a cost saving measure, taking any travel time out of the equation. We use Zoom for our mediation platform. Zoom is particularly beneficial to a mediation because it allows the mediator to put parties into a virtual break room as if they were split up into separate rooms at the office. Attorneys and their clients do not have to be at the same physical location or share the same computer for this to happen. With Zoom, the mediator can separate the attorney from their client, if the need arises, speak with them directly and confidentially. Zoom is compatible with Google Docs, should sharing of documents be necessary. If you are considering mediation for your dispute resolution, contact Jim Schrier for a brief pre-mediation meeting to get familiar with Zoom.
