Mediation is a process whereby the parties to a conflict participate in a meeting facilitated by a neutral mediator whose role is to assist the parties in trying to reach a resolution of their dispute.

 

RTS provides mediation services regarding civil dispute matters, both before and after a lawsuit is filed.  Attorney Jim Schrier has over 24 years of practice experience representing plaintiffs and defendants in hundreds of civil lawsuits.  Jim has worked as a registered mediator since 1999.  The primary focus of Jim’s mediation work is real estate claims, family disputes, personal injury, property damage disputes and business, construction and commercial litigation disputes.

  • James R. Schrier was a presenter at the Indiana Farm Bureau's annual Drainage School held on August 27th in Indianapolis.  This seminar focused on Indiana drainage issues and the regulations that control drainage laws and dispute resolutions.  Surface water, common law concerns, legislative issues, floodway mapping, levees, dams and public trust doctrine were all discussed.  These issues were all addressed in depth with particular interest relating to the Indiana Dept. of Natural Resources and Indiana Dept. of Environmental Management.

  • Receptionist, Karon Jobe, offered her time on Sept. 2 at the Tippecanoe County United Food Pantry.  This day of volunteership served 51 clients in need.  This program has been operating since 2013, partnering with Food Finders, and distributing aid at the Bauer Community Center in Lafayette.  

  • Co-workers, Betty Robison and Kimberly Allbaugh volunteer a day of service at Restore.  Restore is owned and operated by Lafayette Habitat for Humanity.   Their "mission is to build homes, communities and hope".
